Charlotte Rolfing opened its doors in 2001 and Beth has been helping people move and feel better since day one.
Athletes, dancers, musicians, Mom, Dad, old, young... this therapy is appropriate for most anyone interested in feeling and seeing changes in their body, regardless the offending issues that have you seeking solutions. We don't have to dive into WHY, because the focus is on HOW you feel in your physical body and helping you feel better.
Rolfing® Structural Integration(SI) is a very effective process oriented bodywork therapy that works as a catalyst for moving you out of your old habits and back to feeling more at home in your physical body. Dr. Ida Rolf, the originator of this therapy, postulated that the changes in a person's structure were the result of stretching fascia. Science has helped us understand this is not actually the case, though some things definitely change during a series of sessions and you will feel different.
The pain thing; don't let a therapist plough excruciatingly through your body in the name of rolfing or "myofascial release" thinking they are fixing something. Good bodywork should not hurt. Also, it's not an energetic woo thing either; this is totally hands-on stuff. It's not meant to be practiced with a wave of someone's hands off the body.
Together, we'll use meaningful hands-on touch and movement to explore ways to get you back in touch with your whole body, helping you let go of old, stuck or limiting patterns.
Treatment involves a series of 3, 5 or 10 sessions tailored to your particular needs and within a specific protocol of standard SI. The pressure of this therapy ranges from super light to somewhat deep, but always within your comfort range and again, it should never hurt! The point is to help you feel MORE comfortable in your body, not less.
Schedule a session or a consultation today and let's get you moving better!
